Suddenly started period after years on mini pill

Has anyone else had this?
I've been on Cerelle for many years. Stopped to have DD, who is now 20m. Have been on the pill again since she was born, and haven't had a period- in fact, in all the years I've been taking it, I've never had a period on Cerelle.

I started bleeding pretty heavily this morning. Is this normal? Am a bit anxious about this stuff because I had a couple of dodgy smear tests about 3 years ago, 2 LlETZ treatments and a colposcopy. Most recent smear showed no CIN and no HPV.

Also, now I think of it, I've had a few period-like pains recently, but have put them down to wind! (Period pains were normal for me when I had periods, and I have always been quite a heavy bleeder.)

No experience but I would see you GP. Any unexpectedt bleeding should be reported to your GP, especially as you are anxious about it and have history of gynae stuff.

Are you up to date with your smear?

Have they put you on the generic brand instead of cerelle? They keep telling me they're the same but whenever they try to switch me I bleed for 3 weeks and have a week off before starting again. As soon as I'm back on branded cerelle my period disappears again.

So I was on Cerelle and they changed me to a generic brand as mentioned above (not sure of name on it as I've thrown box away) approx 8 months ago.

I'm the same and literally never bled until this. Honestly I did pregnancy tests, had Std tests the works in my panic. That was approx 3 months in. Then convinced I was early peri menopausal....

Lo and behold nothing again for another three months and bang. Absolutely ill, exhausted, slept ridiculous amounts, absolute agony.. then bled for a week.

I have never ever suffered like this in all the years I've had periods.
