Sickness bug will we get it?!

Hi, just after some advice…. My son had an awful sickness bug Thursday afternoon into the night. He recovered well but was so so sick. I have a real fear of being sick, I feel absolutely crazy but start cleaning like mad then go into overdrive thinking I’m going to catch it. It’s been 4 days since he has been sick but I’m still worried there is a chance we can still catch it. Is this likely?! I have a two year old too so worried he will come down with it but am hoping he would have by now?!

Like I said, I feel crazy having irrational thoughts like this but it really does take over!

Anyone have any success stories of the whole family avoiding the bug?!

Fellow Emetophobe here and yes, when DS was small he had several sickness bugs that none of us caught. Bleach is your friend. 4 days sounds like you are safe though so please try and relax (easy for me to say eh, if I was in your shoes would obviously be a nervous wreck too. I really do feel your pain).

Fellow emetophobe here too with a lot of research done into this topic. Any surfaces that have been infected with the germ, the germ can live up to 14 days. Bleach is the only thing that kills it. If you've by any chance missed any surface that the germ is hiding on during your cleaning then you're still exposed if you touch that and then put your hand in your mouth, so hand washing before mouth touching is your true friend for the next fortnight.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, so nice to hear I’m not alone with my over thinking and worry. That’s really interesting about the virus surviving on surfaces for 14 days… I had no idea. I had detolled the house but now might get my bleach spray out too! Let’s hope we all stay well this winter and avoid any horrible bugs 🙏

I've recently discovered that activated charcoal tablets work very well at absorbing toxins and preventing sickness bugs spreading, at least it's worked for me. Google it if you're interested.
