IMPETIGO!

I’ve suffered with reoccurring Impetigo since I was a baby, I’m now 25! It’s honestly impacting my MH, every time I have something exciting to go to etc I flare up! Has anyone got advice please? Doctors rarely prescribing antibiotics and just give creams nowadays and not interested in finding a cause of why it keeps flaring up. If any doctors or anyone going through the same thing can help, would be much appreciated

That sounds really unpleasant and long-lasting.

Do you have other skin conditions that cause wounds and open sores?

Have you ever had any tests to see if you harbour the associated bacteria in your nasal passages?

No, however I went for microneedling facial the other day and that seems to have triggered it again. No I really want to but my doctors are useless, I was just going to buy naseptin anyway and hibiscrub and hope for the best

Naseptin and hibiscrub plus scrupulous towel hygiene sounds like a good plan. Anything that creates surface wounds i would avoid for the forseeable

Also, pillow covers. Horrible things. Boil wash them very frequently.

Hibiscrub for you in the shower and dettol laundry stuff in the washing machine.

I wonder if there are any strains of probiotics that help?

ask your GP for Fucidin antibiotic cream, clears mine up really quickly when a flare up is starting. Went decades without ever heard of it and it’s been a game changer.

You don’t actually need to go gp for this, you can just get it over the counter in a pharmacy and buy it just to save you going to doctors! But I know, I feel like sudocrem or any antiseptic is just as good! I want to find more of a preventative so it stops coming back every time I’m stressed or get a wound
