Ferritin problems

Hi everyone, I have been taking OTC iron bisglycinate for months after a ferritin result of 33. This was marked as normal by the GP, but I know it's on the low side. A recent test has come back as 30, despite me taking these supplements every day! Again, the GP marked it as normal, despite me explaining I've been taking supplements (yet my level has gone down!). What are my options?! Any ideas? So sick of not absorbing iron! Have also tried Spatone, which didn't work at all.

You need ferrous Fumarate for low ferritin

You have to be careful, if your ferritin is low but your hemoglobin is normal then really you need to eat more products with iron in them.

@Sugarsugarahhoneyhoney I really do! Red meat, fortified cereal, plenty of leafy green veg etc. I just can't seem to absorb it properly.
