Insect bite help!

Just after advice!

I got bitten by (I think) a spider two weeks ago on my leg. Two days after it happened, my leg swelled up, was boiling hot and the bite was oozing etc. I spoke to the Dr and got some antibiotics (Flucloxacillin) for a week.
I finished those last Saturday morning. By Saturday evening my foot had started burning, itching like crazy and swelled up again. I spoke to 111 the following morning who referred me to a pharmacist, who then referred me to A&E! I spent two hours there and came away with more antibiotics (Doxycycline) for another week..
I've now got two more tablets to take and although the symptoms have reduced, they certainly haven't gone away. My foot is still red/purple, it itches like crazy of an evening (to the point I can't sleep), and it's incredibly tender to touch.
I'm basically now at the point of.. what do I do next?! Has anybody had similar?
Doctors are so hard to get hold of, but if I have to I obviously will. I'm just wary that as soon as I finish the antibiotics it might all kick in again!

Thanks in advance!

I had a nasty bite on my foot when I was younger and it swelled and itched like mad. Antibiotics didn't work initially and I was eventually sent to A&E by an out of hours doctor where they did an ultrasound to check that my foot was receiving blood and it had swelled up past my ankle. It was a close call apparently and if I hadn't gone to A&E and been put on a drip with antibiotics then they said I would've likely lost my foot. Please be careful. I would be going back to A&E for this.

Yes.
OP you know how you feel, don’t take any chances.Don’t bother with 111, they referred you to a pharmacy!!

Thank you both.
The odd thing is I feel absolutely fine in myself (I was also diagnosed with shingles last week, so it's been a lot!), I've never had a fever or temperature or anything.

I just don't feel as though the antibiotics have done their job fully and I'm worried I'll be back to square one when I'm finished.

I will try the GP tomorrow. I definitely won't bother with 111 again!

I felt fine in myself too apart from the horrendous itching. I actually slept with my foot in ice water to try and calm the itching which obviously is a terrible idea but I was desperate! I also couldn't walk on it at all so it was pretty nasty. Get sorted asap and take care x

Oh dear that sounds exactly like me. I've had many 2am cold foot baths this past week! It's the only relief I get from the itching/burning.

Thanks again! X
