Letter from doctor?

I had blood test results and when I phoned up I was told one of my b vitamins is slightly low and I need to supplement and that there was a prescription to pick up.

I turned up today to collect it and she advised it's been posted as there was a letter with it- does anyone have any idea why that would be if i've already been told the results- i've never had a prescription posted before and she definitely said it's because there was a letter to be sent with it.

There was one that showed just the tiniest bit high - eosinophils- but I googled that and it doesn't seem to be anything concerning.

What other things did they test? Low B12 or folate can show up in a full blood count, was the MCV a little low?

They checked glucose, vit b ferritin etc and all ok. I phoned for results and was told I'd have a prescription for folic acid to pick up. I asked for my results and was sent them, folic acid was low and eosinophils just slightly high.
When I turned up today to pick up my prescription I was told that it had been posted because there was a letter with it, I'm not sure what the letter would be about if i've had my results so giving me a bit of health anxiety haha.

does anyone know why they'd send a letter/post prescription rather than just giving it to me when I was in and know my results anyway? I know i'm just overthinking but it's made me anxious.

In our area prescriptions are sent straight to the nominated pharmacy. Is this what has happened?
Did you ask for another copy of the letter? Or ask when it was posted?
Does the NHS app show your test results?

Normally my prescription would either be delivered to the pharmacy or if pick up from the doctor. I said I’d pick it up but when I went in she said it had been posted because there’s a letter with it, I just can’t work out what the letter could be since I’ve had my results. Hopefully it comes tomorrow.
