Cataract and glaucoma surgery

Hello
Has anyone here had cataract surgery (with a prescription implant) and glaucoma surgery done at the same time? I’d love to hear about your experience.
How was the recovery, and did it really improve your vision?
Any advice or things to look out for would be really helpful!
Thanks in advance.

I've recently had a trabeculectomy but not cataract surgery. Local anaesthetic and not really painful afterwards either. The aftercare is pretty intense, steroid eye drops hourly for the first week, now two hourly. Also antibiotic drops for two weeks as well as continuing glaucoma drops in the other eye. Weekly aftercare visits for the first 4 weeks. I was told it is major surgery so do need to be careful with activity level e.g. walking ok but nothing more strenuous.

DF had cataract surgery in both eyes with prescription lenses so he now only needs reading glasses. He has also had a microshunt in one eye but this was done years after the cataract surgery. He is now medication free in that eye.

Hope this is helpful even if not quite your exact circumstance. It may be worth asking one of the charities e.g. glaucoma UK if they can put you in touch with someone.
