Process for identifying allergy’s?

My ds has hay fever which we do notice in the summer. But he also seems to be bothered by something else . He has a semi permanent blocked nose. I am starting to worry he is allergic to our dog.

what is the process for identifying this? Is it gp for first port of call?

GP for RAST blood tests and then referral for skin prick testing with an allergy specialist is the usual course of action.

My son has had hay-fever for years, then started getting other allergy symptoms, also worse in Spring/Summer. I went to the GP and he had skin prick testing. He has Oral Allergy Syndrome which is exacerbated by an allegies to grass and birch pollen. He also reacted to peanuts and almonds on the tests so we're exploring that further. Hope you get some answers.
