Recurring vaginal swelling - could cry

I am so sick of this! I probably get labial swelling 1/2 times a year. But I’m experiencing it again after only having got rid of 6 or so weeks ago.

I have no idea what is going on. This time around I can feel a pimple sized spot on the swollen labia. Don’t think there was one last time but I didn’t really do a proper examine.

I maintain good hygiene, don’t douche, don’t wear knickers at night.

It’s not an STI as I am not currently active.

What could be going on?

Has a GP had a look? Or an sti clinic ?

Bartholin’s cyst becoming infected (Bartholin’s abscess) - it’s common, not STI, can respond to antibiotics, can be treated by surgery (Marsupilisation) which, in most but not all cases, stops recurrence.

Oh I just googled and saw an image which showed typical swelling and it is exactly what I have been experiencing. The pea sized spot aligns with where the glands are. Thank you!

Not yet. I’m 26 and not had babies. Still very weary of being examined down there

You need to see a doctor. It’s a vulva, they’ve all seen them, and you can request a female doctor (who has one!)
