Perforated eardrum advice

I’ve managed to perforate my eardrum pretty nastily (very stupidly pushed a cotton bud hard into it), it’s fairly painful but more annoyingly is the bleeding/liquid oozing randomly and the weird sounds I can hear (muffled with odd crackles and tinnitus). Saw a nurse who was zero help.-Said to come back if it gets worse.
Should I wear a poster over it to collect the gunk?
How do I clean away the mess?
How long will it take to heal?
Am due to go on holiday in 3 weeks to Spain!

I’d be inclined to see an ENT consultant, your ears and hearing are not something to take any chances with. When DD had a perforated ear drum ours said that in adults quite a few cases don’t heal on their own and require surgery to repair them. You may well need antibiotics ear drops. Keep it dry and use silicone swimming ear plugs in the shower
