Jaw clicking bd hurting

I've been having problems for the last few days with my jaw. I've always had a bit of a clicky jaw but it's become really painful and now it sort of feels a bit stuck. I'm finding it really hard to open my mouth wide, it feels like I'd be forcing it and I daren't. The pain is over towards my ear. Is it a doctor thing or do I see a dentist? I've tried massaging it and no improvement so far

Dentist. My child has the same thing sometimes. Doctor will send you to the dentist.

Dentist. I had a clicky jaw for years that eventually got worse and became painful. The dentist gave me a brace-type thing to wear at night, which moved my jaw to the correct position and it was only a few weeks before it was sorted.

Thanks so much, at least it should be easier to see the dentist then get a GP appointment!

One exercise that helped me was to put tongue on roof of mouth and open and close my mouth, keeping tongue on roof of mouth the whole time. It didn't click when I did this so kind of trained my mouth to open straight. Obviously one for in private!!! Not sure it helps everyone but worth a try.

Ok I'll give that a try, thanks

There's a connection with the pelvis and jaw. YouTube has some exercises which can help to resolve this issue.
