Infected mosquito bite?

Just come back from holiday, covered in mosquito bites, as usual, but this one looks like no other I have had before. Does it look infected?

What should I do with it? I have put some fudicin on it as that's the only allergy cream I have in.

And any advice on prevention in the future? I tried the bracelets this time but obviously not much use.
I don't know why the bloody things love me so much, DH and the DCs remained unbitten.

Is it still itchy?

Another pic showing another bite side by side, for comparison

Doesn't look too bad, take antihistamine tablets and use steroid cream like 1% hydrocortisone for the inflammation and itching. Fucidin is an antibiotic cream but that doesn't look like it needs it. Ice packs can help too.

Get some antihistamine tablets and antisan cream plus take an ibuprofen.
I get this all the time and that's the best way to manage it. You don't usually need antibiotics unless you are unwell

Thanks so much for the replys. I took some claritin tablets as soon as I was bitten. I'll have a look for some hydrocortisone I'm sure I have some somewhere as DCs suffer from eczema.

Any tips for prevention for next time?

These were mine this year (UK), they were fantastic to itch around the periphery! I just used Anthisan and took Cetirizine antihistamines. Took about 3 weeks to disappear and even bruised at a later stage than this. The joys!

Ouch!
I still have dark spots on my legs from some bites about 2 years ago.

What is it about some people that get bitten whereas DH never ever gets them? Is it our blood?

You can go to a pharmacy and be assessed for insect bites. It's probably a bite late to find one open now, but I'd head to any one local to you tomorrow am.

If they deem it clinically necessary (using an algorithm) they can prescribe antibiotics for you. If not, they can usually find something else to help.

Draw a line around the edges of it spreads past the line you drew you need antibiotics and possibly steroids but don't leave it if it's spreading as it won't resolve itself and could turn quiet nasty
