I have a few qs!

How long did it take to sort your medication? (For blood pressure mainly)

how much does your EGFR fluctuate? & have you found different doctors/hospitals calculate it differently? Trying to establish if mine is declining or just fluctuating.

What is your egfr?

Meagain24 · 31/08/2024 20:59

I’ve had a few blood tests over the last few months and they started at 41 and now at 33

Mine varies between 31-44.

I was referred to a nephrologist who arranged all the medication and it seems to be stable and not dropping too much,

Thanks @KaySam because I’ve only had a few and they’ve been lower each time I’m just trying to understand if it is declining

do you have high blood pressure? Or protein in urine?

Also sorry @KaySam did your meds cause your egfr to drop?

My original drop in gfr was due to an injury to my kidneys and then nobody telling me my kidneys were damaged until my gfr dropped to 48.
they do say kidney function drops with age too.

i take ramipril for them now which also helps blood pressure and I reduce the salt in my diet.

@KaySam I’ve just started Ramipril, only a low dose so far. Did your eGFR drop when you started taking it?
