Itchy armpit- worried

Looking for some reassurance. I've had a very itchy right armpit the last few days. I haven't been using any new soaps/deodorant/detergent so I'm not sure what's causing it. There's no rash that I can see. Now I can feel a slight swelling under the skin so I'm getting worried it might be something serious - I've googled possible causes and inflammatory breast cancer is one. No changes in breasts that I've noticed from a check. I will phone GP on Monday but in the meantime I'm looking for some reassurance that it's likely nothing. Perhaps someone here has had a similar experience? Thanks.

Oh ffs Google has a lot to answer for. It's propanlu fungal or a lymph node. Itchy armpit to breast cancer is extreme.

Well I've been suffering from an itchy right armpit off and on - mainly on- for probably 2 years now.
And like you was terrified that it was breast cancer.
I did see my GP and she was really dismissive of my worries.

I think its intertrigo I suffer from because I get problems in the folds of my skin as well as the armpit.

Thanks for the reassurance. It actually seems a lot better today.
