Tooth extraction

So I'm on day 4 of recovery from tooth extraction. Had the molar removed because I fractured it and it got infected. The procedure was complicated because of my curved roots. Pain is still there but not as bad as it has been day 0-3. However there is an awful taste. I've been cleaning with salt water, and been dipping the dressing in the water and biting down for a few minutes but when I've taken the dressing out my mouth it's smells...only way to describe the smell is like the smell from tonsil stones. Ive been brushing my teeth but avoiding the area of extraction just because of the stitches. My jaw is still very bruised and slightly swollen but I'm able to eat alot better. I've posted a picture and just wondering if it's infected? I've called the hospital but the unit nurse told me to call back on Monday 🤣 excuse the state of my teeth, need a deep clean but wasn't allowed until I had my tooth out which took nearly a year to get booked.
