i have been off work sick now for a few weeks and i dont feel up to going back still, can a doctor refuse u a sick line for stress etc if thats the way u feel.

Yes, they can in short. A 'diagnosis' of stress with ongoing sicknotes is a real dilemma for GPs. If you have been off for a few weeks already, that is not a good sign of you ever returning to be honest.

Firstly, what is causing your stress and what have you been doing to address it while you have been off work? Is work part of your stress?

If work is the cause or contributing to your stress, then avoiding work will never be the solution. The problem will always be looming whenever your next sicknote runs out. Have you spoken to your line manager or referred yourself to occupational health?

what sort of work is it, and is it depression - if not what's "stress" (am not being critical, just I think we have different versions of it iyswim)

well i am ok cus they didnt refuse the line, i was just wondering could they infact doctor was very nice, and yes i am on a d to only just recently but it was caused by stress from an awful personal time.
