why do my finger nails keep breaking?

They keep breaking off in the painful bit before they reach the end of the finger - its really painful (ok not exactly childbirth painful but still not nice .

Just wondered if anybody knew what im lacking that makes my finger nails so weak - dh says its calcium but im not convinced.

it is water, too much washing of hands and household stuff making them brittle. nail varnish will help.

don't know but ,ine are the same. They were all nice and strong when I was pregnant but now they're all weak and flaking.

I'm probably all right for calcium I should think so not sure what it might be

Thanks - think you might be right fishie - they were fine before i had kids and started doing all the domestic stuff.

I suppose it could be pregnancy tommy but dd2 is over a year now so though i would be over it by now.
