Can anyone please help?

I had gynae prolapse surgery and was told not to strain. So I've been reliant on laxatives, softener and suppositories for 4 weeks. I didn't have a poo until a week post op and then another 4 days later. I'm going most days now but it doesn't ever all come out so I feel so horrible for hours afterwards.

I'm desperate to have a proper poo that feels like I'm emptied and doesn't need a suppository to finish it off.

I don't know what to do. I'm walking which is all I'm allowed at the moment, eating 30g of fibre a day including soluble fibre. It's like a nightmare. I had no idea this would happen 😔

Has anyone found a solution to this?

I get this problem although no surgery. In this case fibre isn't always helpful.
Lots of prunes, prune juice, fruit and veg. Drink a lot of water. Try docusate sodium or Dulcoease x 3 a day as well which I find helps more than other laxitives without causing excess gas.

@Zerro thanks, but I need the loo, I just can't go properly. It's like my muscles have stopped pushing properly. So I'm desperate to go but can't!

I did use dulco ease for a while then switched to lactulose so maybe I'll try it again. Thank you.

Yes that was my problem. They call it incomplete evacuation and it's a horrible feeling.

Eugh it's horrible isn't it. I never had the problem before.
I will def try dulco ease again. Thanks x
