NC as this could be outting for those that know me.
I was in hospital about a week/2 weeks ago for asthma. When I arrived my HR was just over 150 BPM. They did 2 ECGs. They sorted my asthma out although I was in Majors for a long time.
The other day I got a letter in the post for a cardiology appointment. I knew nothing of a referral! I did ring the GP and reception said they didn't do the referral so I'm wondering if it was someone in A&E or something who looked at the ECG possibly after I'd left as no one said about my ECG at the time (not sure if this happens?). The cardiology appointment is quite soon in about 10 days.
I should add that my GP previously referred me to cardiology and it took over 10 months(!!) for a phone call and then after a 24 hour tracing I was discharged.
Does anyone have any experience of anything similar? I don't know if it is routine for the appointment to be so fast? And I don't know what happens at a first face to face cardiology appointment? Quite nervous due to so many unknowns.
Thanks very much
