Tonight, I'll be mostly trying toe wiggling. How about you?

wow I@m going to try that in the morning
it says it works to help energise the body to get up
I dont have insomnia, I have an inablility to get my arse out of bed

dh has insomnia though, I'll tell him about it

NutterlyUts · 16/04/2008 21:53

Weirdly, I find if I concentrate on making each bit of me "go to sleep" starting from a toe and doing them all, then each inch of my ankle/leg etc, usually but the time I'm on my chest/neck I'm asleep, no matter how un-sleepy I am when I start

I think its a mix of complete boredom and the fact you're concentrating on something enough to let your brain switch off?

PeachesMcLean · 16/04/2008 21:55

To be honest, i don't understand how it can energise me to get up and relax me to go to sleep. Contradiciton there. But one I'm prepared to test out...

You see, nutterly, i can spend 2 hours concentrating on something and it takes ages for sleep to kick in. Brain just won't behave.

I think I'm also going to try just getting up and reading a magazine in the spare room. Hopefully will end up sleeping in there.

Its weird how the mind works. Let us know if you find something that works for you - my method doesn't work all the time but it helps

PeachesMcLean · 16/04/2008 22:12

Wish me luck, I'm going in.

G'night.

Update.

Last night it well and truly worked. Bizarrely the night before, I slept right through so didn't get the chance to try it. I'd set the spare room up in advance with a lamp and book, I'd planned my toe tactics and I think I just scared the insomnia off

Last night was a combination of wriggly toes and concentration, the former making the latter a lot easier. Now that's weird.
