Surgery with nerve block

I’m due to have hand surgery with a nerve block instead of a general anaesthetic.
I have the choice of sedation, or not.

Can anyone offer any experience or advice either way?

best bet is to take to talk to your anaesthetist and take their advice - they will know what works best for the operation you're having and what works well/is safest if you have any medical problems.
