Labia lump!

Hi,

Just looking for some advice, I noticed a v small firm round lump on my labia majora about 6 months ago. It’s slightly tender when you touch it but I wouldn’t know it was there if I hadn’t accidentally discovered it! I’ve got my partner to look who said it looks just normal tissue/maybe a small cyst but that lump has def not always been there. I’m not sure but sometimes it feels smaller and then slightly bigger again. I’ve been to GP when it was def feeling smaller and she was lovely said she specialises in women’s health and she couldn’t see anything to worry over. I’m still worrying as I don’t understand why it’s just popped up or what it is. it’s 100% not an STI. Has had anyone had anything like this before?
I have previously had health anxiety which I got on top of years ago so can’t tell if this is health anxiety starting!

I seem to have a small cyst that gets angry and sore around the time of my period and I suffer for a week. Then it shrink away to nothing. Repeat cycle...it's annoying! I'm so tempted to buy a scalpel and slice the skin and squeeze...

HelpmyDCbecomefinanciallysavvy · 19/08/2024 22:19

It is likely a cyst. GP has seen it. I would not worry unless it gets worse.

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy please don't scalpel yourself down there.

Hot baths will be good for it.

Thanks this never gets v big or anything just marginally bigger if anything. But yes it does seem to be associated with my period when it changes a bit!

Thanks you are both being so kind.
I feel like I’ve tried everything, hot baths, bath salts, sleeping without pants etc but nothing seems to get it to go. I was just worried I’ve had it for so long!

I had a cyst as above convinced myself it was cancer (had a scan not cancer) but went after a few months. Sometimes it just takes time for these things to resolve. Surgery is sometimes necessary. Once I stopped obsessing and prodding it the cyst went away.

Might be an ingrown hair?

Blocked gland?

I’m sat here feeling now and it’s definitely gone. If you are really worried ask for an US. Takes 5 minutes or less. I was abroad at the time so access to these diagnostic tests are better than the UK.
