White blood count - elevated for 5 months. Any ideas?

Hi

My white blood count has always been elevated every month for the last 5 months. The range is 0-11 and I'm always 11.5-13.0.

Any ideas?

GP keeps sending me for a repeat test each following month and it's starting to make me anxious.

Thanks

When my son had this it turned out to be not a worrying thing; but probably linked to a previous infection (think it was swine flu, if I remember rightly). The white cells were still working to get rid of the infectious cells.

Thanks @itsnotmeitsu

Was his count elevated over several months?

I did have COVID quite badly in December/January and might have had it again in March...

@JustLaura > It was over 10 years ago so I can't remember the details, but from what I recall I think it could quite conceivably be down to you having had covid.
