Anyone had a Bartholin cyst removed?

I have one, 3cm diameter, which is mildly uncomfortable. I have the choice to have it removed, likely under general anaesthetic, or to leave it.

Has anyone had one? Did you have it removed and how did that go?

I'm pretty sure you mean a ganglion cyst not a Bartholin cyst - or at least I hope so 😂😂😂

This wins the internet today!!

I had a cyst years ago which grew to the size of an egg, the pain
The dr just said keep my eye on it, by the Saturday it was agony but I managed to pierce it with a sterilised pin
The relief was instant, a steady stream of sporn. Never knew if it was a bartholins cyst, it started after a shaving cut

Interestingly I currently have 2 cysts/boils on my mons pubis which are really sore and after googling will try not to squeeze again, I said try

I've had loads of the damn things - ended up having my bartholins gland removed. I used to sit in a hot bath with Epsom Salts to try and draw them to a head. I had a number removed too.
Sorry you're going through this x

I had one removed probably about 20 years ago after two sets of antibiotics didn’t touch it. I was admitted from an and e where I’d gone because the pain was unbearable. They stitched the site open and packed it and I was in overnight , they then removed the gauze and I went home. The relief of waking up from the anaesthetic and not being in pain was unbelievable. Never had any problems since other than an occasional twinge in that area but it never came back.

Just a quick update that no one needed but I’m thrilled!

It BURST!! Hot baths and flannels frankly didn’t do anything. It was massive and I fought the impulse to shove a needle in it. But last night in bed it burst, and is currently draining happily on its own. Next time I feel one coming I’m going to try washing it with a bit of hibiscrub as I keep reading that works? It guess it’s worth a go.

I hope yours resolves!
