I think my DD has it. Do I take her to the DR to get it confirmed or just deal with it?
Probably sounds like a stupid question Sorry

Personally I would just get on with it. My DS had it the day I brought DS2 home from the hospital! Yikes! We just got on with it until DS2 got spots at 5 days old, then just took him to the doc to have it confirmed, as I didn't know how it would affect a baby.

BTW, I don't know how old your little one is, but if she suffers badly from itchiness, as mine did, I would highly recommend bicarbonate of soda baths. Stick her in the bath and just dump some bicarb in. I really helps with the itchies. We did that a few times a day, as well as nurofen for the fever (not everyone gets that).

Good luck!

Thanks, I will get DH to get some bicarb on his way home. I hate to sound stupid again but without confirmation how do you know that is what it is? Lots of spots on tummy and back red with little heads?

Sounds like chickenpox, Fluid filled red spots is the usual description
Also stock up on the calpol and kids neurofen for pain and fever relief

I'd also call your surgery just to have it added to your dd's notes, for future reference.
