Hi all
just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.
I had an ecg done at a free screen recently and it showed Poor Wave Progression and Left Anterior Fascicular Block . I didn’t think much of it as I had read that leads are easily misplaced on women rapid overweight
had another one done and it showed the same except adds that there was ‘possible old MI’.
heart rate 56 and 60 on the first one .
I have an appointment with the cardiologist based on the first one and went to my GP after the second in a total panic .
he says I shouldn’t worry about it , that I would have known if I’d had a heart attack and that the block if it is correct would be just treated with meds . He looked at the ecg and said he didn’t agree with the wording on the ecg.
I also contacted the cardiologist secretary and asked could I come sooner and she said she would show the ecg to him , the second one and see what he said. He told her there was no urgency, that he would see me at the originally planned appointment.
of course Googling is the worst isn’t it but as far as I can see I’m looking at heart failure and am in a state , think the stress is probably doing more damage !
anyone have any experience?
I should add that I had a cardiac ct last year and it was a score of zero which was great . But I know this is a conduction thing
rhanks for reading and for any advice 🙏

Why did you have the cardiac ct? Was the ecg the same back then?

Had that as a screening because of my age and my mum had an angioplasty at my age and was delighted it was all clear

Hi I have just had an ecg and have come out with a right bundle block so something similar but different side, gave me a bit of stress. I rang the British Heart Foundation and had a chat with a Cardiac nurse who explained fully what it was. It’s Mon to Fri 9 to 5 so you have unfortunately missed the time for today but maybe try next week. I also decided not to Google, big history of heart issues in my family and I just could do without it. I’m 58 and just over ok BMI but only just by about 6 pounds and I came out with slightly raised cholesterol .
