Chaffing rash

Hi I have a big rash on my inner thigh from what I believed to be chaffing, but it’s been two weeks and the rash is still there and itches beyond belief. I’ve tried several creams which haven’t helped. I’m now wondering if it’s a different kind of rash that needs an antibiotic cream. I haven’t worn anything since that would allow chaffing and it gets plenty of air to it when I’m home. Can anyone suggest anything to try before I see a doctor? Thanks

It could be a form of athletes foot, like a fungal infection type of eczema - sounds awful but I had it on my face from a cream that I reacted badly to. You could try some anti fungal cream - daktarin. Check with a pharmacist when buying might be best bet.

Agree, it could have got a fungal infection so that may need treating like athletes foot.

DH gets chafing as he is a long distance runner in all weathers so sometimes gets badly chafed areas, he puts Sudacreme on and it alway seems to calm it down so may be worth trying that if it happens again, though you may have tried that already

My son used to get jock itch as he is a welder so things get quite warm lol bought him some canesten cream and it sorted it out before he had to go to the drs about it, it’s very unpleasant and uncomfy

I would probably put some Daktarin or Canesten on it and see if it improves

Thanks everyone I’ll try daktarin, at first I thought ringworm as there are patches of circles but it does sound like jock itch from looking that up.
