Anyone had overactive thyroid with all other bloods normal?

I lost weight unexpectedly and a thyroid function test showed abnormal - overactive thyroid. Subsequent tests of a range of things all good and even thyroid antibody test normal. Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

I’ve just had tests and all normal apart from thyroid is hyperthyroid and the is less than 0.01, this has come out the blue feeling scared! Being referred to hospital with it, I haven’t had an antibody test though, I had my baby 6 months ago, how are you getting on?

Hello good luck! I too felt scared but less so now. I went to see the endocrinologist the other day who thought it wasn’t Graves (no antibodies) but benign nodules. Prescribed carbimazole to take once a second blood test confirmed I was still hyper. Today the Dr rang me to say my bloods - 3 weeks on -are nearly normal and DONT take the drug! She sounded really surprised! So I’m having another blood test in 2 weeks and going ahead with a scan. Fingers crossed it was all a temporary blip. Hopefully for you too x

@Jhun that sounds good then, thank you for the info, I’m really hoping mine will be some temporary blip too but we will see, I did a private blood test today and t3 is fine but t4 was in range when I checked on line but only just….. but the tsh is still 0.01 😟 so no idea what this means
