My DP is due to have this done in the next few months.
Has anyone else had it done, and can offer any tips about recovery etc?

Thanks in advance.

My DH had this 4 weeks ago. It was a day surgery case and he was last on the list but still home by early evening. Recovery has been fine with minimal pain (he didn’t need the full course of pain killers he was discharged with). Had to wait to drive (although is doing so comfortably now) and still isn’t lifting anything heavy but he’s been well enough to attend a music festival and come away on the family holiday. (Even though this meant me carrying mine, his and the kids bags through the airport!).

In terms of recovery I stayed with him the day after surgery as the hospital require someone with them for 24hrs but it was more as company than him needing anything. I also moved into the spare room to give space/not knock him for a few days.

I wish your DP a speedy recovery too.

Thanks @AltCarbon

My DP had his op this week. I was sat outside the hospital to pick him up, and he marched out like nothing had happened! Took painkillers the same day and once the next. Has been out walking and doing nothing different.
Changed his dressing (and had to peel the compression socks off him as he was not told when to take them off).
