Hi, my 18 month old dd fell of our bed this morning and kept crying and saying ow every time she moved her arm. We have taken her to A & E and after an xray they confirmed that her collar bone is broken. She seems fine one minute and then the next crys and wriggles around like she is in a lot of pain. There is not a lot that can be done other than rest it which is so difficlt for an active child that age. Anyone else been through this and how long did it take before it healed.

Oh your poor DD. Hope it heals quickly.

I'm sorry to hear about your dd - what a horrible thing to happen to such a little one. My friends dd broke her collar bone a couple of years ago and I know that the first few days she was in a lot of pain but it didn't take long for her to be ok and active again (although it obviously took a few weeks before she was properly healed).

I hope they have given you some decent painkillers and that your dd is managing to sleep tonight.

Thanks.

She slept fine, think the trauma of yesterday really tired her out. Today she is her normal self. She winced a couple of times while i was getting her dressed but other than that she is playing fine. Just need to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't use it too much or fall on it again. The problem is she copies her older brother and follows him around.
