DH lab results - I need a handhold, please

DH had a seizure in January and had a collision. He was delirious, but there were no broken bones or internal injuries. Normal labs except for elevated phosphate and creatinine, both of which resolved. Normal renal function. He takes clopidogrel and rosuvastatin. He had been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and is undergoing memory evaluation.
He was discharged on 250 mg of Keppra daily. Was referred to an outpatient "GP with a special interest in neurology" who raised it to 500 mg daily in May.

He had updated bloodwork last week. Egfr was 52 ml/min and serum creatinine was 116. We are waiting for the GP to call.

I am beside myself with worry that he now has chronic kidney disease. I'm wondering if the Keppra is causing this and whether he can take something else to avoid seizures.

Not expecting medical advice, of course. I know we have to wait for the GP. But a handhold would be very gratefully received.

500 mg a day is a low dose for a full grown man. My DD is only 14 and is on 2000mg a day for epilepsy.
There are obviously drugs that they can try. Keppra is considered one of the safest with least side effects.

Please don’t worry an eGFR 52 isn’t too bad and can also vary depending on hydration and age.
Dr will probably want to check blood pressure and urine for protein.
