Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy

Hiya, vocalising into the cyberspace for a handhold I think! Been asked not to tell anyone IRL.

DH (fit mid 40s) has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He's known since a teen. Everything has been fine. Recent tests came back less good: 1/20 chance of a cardiac arrest in the next 5yrs. 'Low risk to intermediate risk change'. Only change other than age are that his Dad died (of a HA - but he was early 80s) this year and he has taken on the not insignificant burden of emotionally caring (and it's increasingly more than that - and she's 5hrs away) of his v v tricky mother. He has been very stressed. Life is stressful generally (but not esp - both have quite stressful and not well paid jobs. No family help. Two kids in primary). He is processing it and - unusually - really gone quiet and secretive on me. Won't let me tell my bf or anyone which is hard. Obviously also got to have kids tested as they get into their teens (which was my actual worry!). Anyoneable to advise/offer support/what to do?! How I should/could/might feel? He's a brilliant Dad and husband. He's esp worried about physical activity: he's always run/cycled/lifted - it's so important to him and he's so worried he'll have to stop.

I guess I just support him and see where he goes as he gets more information etc.
