Low serum folate

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this?

I went to the doctor with regular diahhrea and constant mouth ulcers and headaches, had a blood test and got results today.

My serum folate is very low apparently (5), and my CRP is at 9 so slightly high. My b12 is normal.

I'm going to book a doctors follow up tomorrow as they have told me to (only got the results today and now they are closed), but just wondering if anyone has had the same/similar and if so what happened?

I would ask about getting a coeliac screen done as diarrhoea and low folate can be a sign of it. They will put you on iron supplements I was put on them for anaemia as my levels were that low but no coeliac but I know a lot of others who tested positive esp with the mouth ulcers etc you've mentioned. I hope you get answers and start to feel better soon.
