Hi,

Has anyone heard of or has swallow syncope? I'm pretty sure this is what has happened to me 3 times now in the last year and each time it an involved me taking a sip of a fizzy drink, feeling the most excruciating chest pain then waking up moments later on the floor with no idea what's happened.

I has a sip of lemonaide last night and next time I woke up with my husband shouting my name trying to wake me, I was dripping in sweat. He said my eyes were rolling back and I was chocking. The first time it happened I was with a friend who witnesses it and said the same.

Do I need medical help for this or do I just avoid fizzy/cold drinks?? Feeling a bit shaken up today I've bashed all my face and my leg is in agony not sure why must have landed funny.

Guess I just want some reassurance xx

Hey, I have syncope was diagnosed 2019.
When it first happened my cousin took me to A&E, I was admitted and was under observation. It can be an underlying condition, speak to GP for more advice, I found out I had a hole in my heart while there.

It could be nothing but definitely speak to GP l, could be that anything fizzy has an affect on your nerve receptors.

Hope you get answers x
