What successful treatment have you had for getting rid of solar keratosis?

I have a solar keratosis on my temple for which I have been applying Solaraze (diclofenac) cream for 3 months.
It doesn't seem to be improving and feels red and sore.
I have a doctor's appointment in a couple of weeks where I expect he will recommend cryotherapy treatment.
He has said that this has a small risk of leaving a scar.
Has anyone had success with any other treatments?
I've been reading about laser treatment but not sure if they give that on the NHS (though I do have Bupa cover as well)

Thanks in advance.
