Infected bite?

Does this look potentially infected? Felt like something bit me Thursday morning, it's been itchy on and off since but the redness hasn't gone at all, if anything it's getting darker. Not sure if it's spreading or not!

Are you in England?

Draw a line round it to see if it spreads. Take antihistamines and also use antihistamine cream or hydrocortisone cream. See if it helps. If it gets worse the see a pharmacist first thing Monday as they can prescribe antibiotics for bites now. Keep an eye on it and ring 111 if it gets worse in the meantime.

It looks like the start of cellulitis. Draw a ring around it as a pp has suggested and get yourself to a pharmacy tomorrow, many pharmacists can prescribe anti biotics or something to soothe it.

I had something very similar looking on my thigh a few weeks ago. Presumed it was a bite and others suggested horsefly bite..
it was very itchy at times and seemed to get darker before it got better. It was gone after a week or so.

This was mine. Obviously get it checked out if concerned though. I’m UK too.

I Would speak to a pharmacist tomorrow, they can prescribe antibiotics for infected insect bites under the pharmacy first scheme.
I would give an antihistamine for now and some calamine cream to smooth the itch.

Bloody hell you two - I'd like to know what's bitten you.

Definitely seek pharmacist advice - that's nasty.

Are you using antihistamine cream on it still, taking antihistamines? Looking much better, they can take a while to heal .
