Positive FIT test and lump

I've had a lump (2 inches down from my belly button, and 2 inches to my right) for about 6 weeks now, it is not painful, and not rock hard either, more softish, Hard to say how big it is, but what I can feel it is approx 4" long and 2" wide, tracking downwards. So Ive had the following tests which have all come back clear:- poo tests for inflammation and bacteria, blood tests, ultrasound of abdomen and also a rectal examination by GP. The FIT test has now come back positive however, and Ive been referred to hospital on 2 week wait. I am pretty terrified. I did have a tiny bit of blood when I wiped but this was just once, and back in April and have not had any since. The GP said I have an umbilical hernia, but that was ok. He did wonder if I might have another hernia, hence the lump, but when I had the ultrasound yesterday she could't see anything untoward, but did admit hernias were not her expertise (not sure if that means there could be one) maybe the umbilical hernia is something to do with the lump, I just don't know. It has really knocked me for six receiving a text from the GP about this and then the practice not being able to offer any GP for me to just have a quick talk to on the phone today. In fact the first appointment I can get is likely to be after the hospital appointment I am offered under the 2 week wait. So now Im just worrying away. And googling, oh am I googling and can't seem to see a palpable tummy lump felt only when Im standing (which disappears when I lie down) is very common with possible cancer of the bowel. It sounds more like a hernia. Has anyone else ever had this? I did have softer bowel movements for a couple of weeks and these were more frequent, ie 2 or 3 times a day and it was the combination of this and the lump which made me seek a GP's opinion. But the frequnet bowel movements have now ceased over the last few days, and are more normal, in fact more a little constipated to be honest. So my only symptom now is the lump (said to be soft and moveable) and the positive FIT test. Just don't know what to think, has anyone else had similar symptoms please?

@Gherkinslice hi, how are you doing now? I am in a similar position and worrying so much :( hope your tests have ruled out anything sinister

Hi, sorry you are worried about similar. I've had a CT abdomen and nothing has shown up regarding the lump, although it's still there, which us crazy! I've had colonoscopy and 3 x polyps removed and sent for checking (results still not back, so still worrying) and the only thing diagnosed from that and the CT was diverticulosis. I'm pretty fed up tbh that it's all so slow. I seem to have gone from 2 week wait to 28 day however, although that has been exceeded now re results still outstanding, as they are meant to confirm or rule out anything sinister in that time. Apparently no such thing as 2ww anymore, even though GP put that on the referral. Do I assume the consultants have taken me off the 28 day thing as the polyps are harmless, or that they've just exceeded the guidelines, I just don't know. I've rung the secretary a couple of times and I've an appointment in SIX more weeks which is ridiculous. I hope you get quicker answers, what if anything have you been referred for?
