Hello. I went for a routine smear test today (I’m 12 weeks postpartum), and on examination, the nurse called the doctor to have a closer look. They mentioned that it looked like I had some discolouration on my cervix and were unsure of the reasonings but have done an urgent referral to gynaecology and now I’m sick with worry.
I’ve had a normal smear about 4 years ago, after having my first child. The dr mentioned that it could be do with my hormones as I’m exclusively breast feeding and obviously only had a baby 12 weeks ago, so that could have changed my cervix, but didn’t seem convinced.
Has anyone else had similar or know any reasons for a small bit of discolouration on the cervix? Obviously I have to wait for my smear results to confirm any abnormality’s from that side.
