so our little girl had a UTI at around 3 weeks old had to have antibiotics and went for her routine follow up ultrasound on 4th May to check her kidneys. We haven’t heard anything since and just presumed ‘no news was good news’ but now we’ve had a letter through for an appointment at the hospital at the end of August. Could this just be an ‘everything’s fine’ appointment because if not why has it taken months to come through! But on the other hand if everything is fine would they haven’t an appointment in person just to say that? I’m worrying now! Has anyone been through similar?

she’s 6 months old in a couple of weeks

i’m just really worrying cos i can’t see them just having an appointment with a consultant to say yeah everything’s fine 😭

It's hard to say. My niece had a heal prick test when born and results came back and she had a letter for appointment at GOSH 2 months later

Turns out she is deaf and has Pendread syndrome.

I would think 2 months for her was a long time to wait to hear anything but I suppose with wait times ect.

I would think if it was serious u would of been called.

I would call gp as they would have access to her hospital notes and if anything is wrong hospital would inform gp with letters anyways x

My DD15 has a UTI as a baby, she had kidney reflux and had to be on prophylactic antibiotics for a few years. She, as many others grew out of it, but we also got the letter, they did some tests like ultrasound, she also had a test with a tracer so they could see the urine travelling through the kidneys/bladder/ureter and urethra - all was fine in the end once she grew more and things worked themselves out physiologically

ahhhh okay so if i call gp on monday they’ll be able to tell me whether it’s just a follow up or not? as you say @charlie19900 i think ( now my logical hat is on) they’d have called me or got us in sooner than another 4 weeks if anything serious. i guess they would also have check ups/follow ups in person for babies!!
