Has anyone's baby had scabies before? A few months ago I noticed my son had some spots on his hands and feet I booked him in with the doctors as I thought it was hand foot and mouth, anyway they told me it looked like he had scabies at this point I was absoloutey mortified and had no idea how he had them as me and his dad didn't, anyway a few days later and me and his dad start to get the same spots. We have all treated ourselves multiple times, using different creams prescribed by the doctor, I've washed everything on a 60 degree wash, cleaned everywhere, trying to keep on top of everything as much as I can, but we just can't get rid of them. My son is the worst, so I'm just wondering has anyone ever had them and if so how did you get rid of them? I'm not leaving the house because I don't want him to pass them on to anyone, and it's making me really paranoid like I'm missing something.... I've also replaced our mattress, quilt etc.....

My adult DS got them from uni accommodation, a few others got them too. He still hasn’t got rid of them months later, despite coming home. He’s treated 3 times with permethrin & once with derbac. He’s changed mattress, isolated all duvets, washed everything on 60 each time he treats. It’s been a nightmare, he’s itching constantly & it’s really affected his mental health. The GP has said there’s a resistant strain. He’s asked for ivermectin now but the GP has got to get sign off from a dermatologist first. If he has no luck I’m paying for him to see a private Dr via zoom who will do a private prescription.
The only thing I can think is you’re maybe all reinfecting each other. The treatment has to go under all nails & in between fingers which I imagine must be hard on a baby as they constantly put hands in their mouths.

It's awful, it really does affect your mental health... my anxiety is through the roof with it, I'm so paranoid about everything and it's costing me so much money buying the treatment, my son gets it on prescription but we don't, we have treated ourselves at least 6 times now.... the dermatologist told us to try permethrin again but we've already used to derbac too. I'm loosing my mind with it!!

Hi, sorry you're dealing with this too! Did you manage to get rid of them?
