Amitriptyline

Evening All

I am on amitriptyline 30mg and I know many on here have taken this and either slept for England or felt like a zombie/ dry mouth etc.

But, since taking this for the past 6 weeks for neuropathy I cannot get into a deep sleep - just a mild/dozy half awake sleep. I reckon no more than 45 minutes max of broken sleep at a time.

I will put a call in to GP next week but wondered for my own info if anyone else had this weird side effect or if it is actually a side effect. I don't want to stop taking the med but FYI I normally sleep really well.

hello
I personally haven’t had this OP but I am on only 10mg at the moment… my sleep has generally improved since starting it.
I am hoping to increase the dose though as not seeing much change with my migraine patterns.

I took amytriptyline for years.

It made me sleep like a log,

It has very different effects on different people though.

If it's impacting you negatively I'd talk to your GP because there are a lot of other meds for neuropathy and if you change you might get all the benefits and be able to sleep.
