What fresh new hell is this? Uti ?

I'm peeing a lot. Waking up in the night then need to go straight away again as soon as I wake up. Sometimes this can be only a few hours apart. I cam. Usual go all night without needing to go.
No stinging, no blood, no pain. I've had uti many times before and it doesn't feel like that, with the exception of going a lot.
Dr won't prescribe meds, he never does. I've got them via NHS 111 before and out of hours service

What the hell do I do ? I can't go anywhere atm as I'm needing to go every 45mins - 1 hour at best

Arent chemists giving prescriptions for UTI’s now?

SE20schools · 26/07/2024 07:00

Do you have any other symptoms? Are you drinking a lot of water/thirsty as well?

Peri meno age? You need estriol cream. Local oestrogen which builds up the wall of the bladder/vagina, stops you needing a wee all the time.

You need to get a UTI ruled out first, but maybe it’s not a uti, as there’s no burning or stinging. What age are you? It could be linked to a reduction in oestrogen, in which case a GP could help you with either vaginal oestrogen (such as Vagifem)) or you could consider HRT. Look up ‘Genito Urinary Syndrome of the menopause’. I’m not medical, but have suffered similar.

@DustyLee123 sorry don't know why I quoted you!

I'm peri meno age. I'm going to try the cream. Can I get it OTC ?

Also, this started at the same time as my latest period started. Thoughts?

I was fine before it. Not had sex (I usually get uti from this)

Thrush can cause that as well. So can BV. Last time I had a dose of it I took three antibiotics, two different brands of pessaries, an oral thrush pill and a course of BV gel before it finally shifted. Still not sure which one it was. It’s also worth noting that I tested negative for all three, so one of the tests must have been wrong because I’m cured now.

You can, but it's not cheap. Might be worth a try though.

For me the cream versions were too messy and there was too much leaking of nasty goo, the pessaries seem cleaner. I think there is a cream version of the linky below.

Gina 10 Micrograms Vaginal Tablets - 24 Pack - Boots

Droolylabradors · 26/07/2024 14:31

You can buy Gina over the counter if you are over 50. Otherwise it's estriol from GP.
Ive never had any issue with the cream, it soaks in overnight and I rub it all over my vulva as well as shoving it up inside. And I use my daily from consultants instructions. It's a miracle.
