i just rather embarrasingly fell over in town (was on my way to the off licence!) Slipped up, and landed really heavily (i am rather heavy) on my but, elbows and head.
was so embarassed i crawled straight back to the car and managed to drive home.
It hurts. it is getting worse by the minute and i can't sit down!
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww.
just needed to let that out.

i specialise in injuries which have nothing that can be done and take ageas to heal

broken nose

dislocated shoulder did that sailing dislocated it when the sail got whipped out while i was holding the sheet before i could howl the place down it whipped back an relocated it but that was about twelve years ago and you can still hear it crack

ribs and cocyx

ligaments in hand

my broken ankle might have been able to be repoaired if i had been to the docs with it but as i didnt it is still hruting

I thought I'd broken mine.. went to A&E and quickly decided it was "just bruised" when doc snapped on a latex glove for "necessary anal examination.."

It was agony for days.. painful for weeks.. seemed to trigger off a different back problem a couple of months later for which I needed physio, but no probs now (years later).

oh god it gets worse. not just exposing my lardy spotty bum but an ANAL EXAMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
and it still hurts.
when i'm still saying daily that my bum still hurts in 6 or 7 weeks time and i'm getting boring you will tell me won't you?

i've never heard of having to have an anal exam.

i mean, you can tell all you need to know just from an xray.

I have chipped my coccyx and dislocated it (2 separate occasions).

I was anally examined once [ouch] and x-rayed both times. A rubber ring or a cushion are essential for a while. I was told that it could get worse during pregnancy but I couldn;t tell tbh - my lower back just ached in the last trimester full stop!

Yoga or gentle stretching exercises can help once you feel ok.

Hulababy · 15/04/2008 19:14

I did this several years ag. I fell backwards into a wooden arm of the sofa. It was so painful. I have lots of sympathy for you.

I didn't have mine xrayed - at 14 or 15 years old couldn't have dealt with the embarrassment! But my GP said it was almost certainly broken.

The pain lasts for a while. I still get twinges if I sit down for too long at time, esp on hard chairs/stools - and this is 20 years on now.

Sympathies I did mine in after DD was born. It is horrible. I found sitting on a rubber ring was good as took the pressure off sore area. I also still (3yrs on) get twinges if on a hard chair or sitting for a while.
