Really anxious about my mole

Ok so I have already booked a GP appointment (this is next Friday), but has anyone else had something like this before and it turned out to be ok because I am going out of my mind with worry.
This is not a new mole, I have always had it and it has always been this shape, what has changed is the new darker dot within the mole which I noticed yesterday when getting dressed, there has been no bleeding/itching/crusting or pain. Obviously all I can think about is the worst case scenario and my anxiety is through the roof, I described the above to the GP receptionist and they have said it fits the catagory for a routine appointment hence the booking next Friday but to call them back for a same day appointment if any additional symptoms like itching or bleeding occur, but as it is still a change to a mole should I really be seen same day, would this be something I could request sooner at a private clinic I’m not used to navigating private healthcare but not sure I can wait until next week

I've got a mole like that on my breast but it's a pink colour I got mine checked and was fine. But again always get them checked x

I have had the pharmacist in Tesco take a look and she said it is right to have the GP appointment as it has changed but not to panic too much in the meantime and it maybe that they say watch and wait. If the GP says it doesn’t need removing I may go down private dermatologist route and pay to get it done anyway as I don’t want the chance that it could turn sinister in future

You should get both checked

they will use a special magnifying lens to look at the detail, borders and colour at magnification.

without that it’s just guessing - to me that looks like a congenital nevus (guessing)

you are doing the right thing! Hope it goes well

I had one exactly like this. Developed a darker spot on the outer perimeter. I was referred and it was removed under local. It was sent for testing and was nothing of concern
