Husband was bitten/stung overnight by something… the redness and swelling is just increasing… anyone know what could have bit him? We have antibiotics from Pharmacist but redness still getting worse. Is it an infection?

That’s nasty! How’s he feeling in himself?

He feels totally normal. The skin is itchy, hot, painful and tight but other than that he is fine.
no fever or chills or anything.

Draw a line with pen around the red area so you can see how swollen it is getting. I would get a Dr to look at that tomorrow. I was bitten once on my stomach and a few days later my glands were swollen in my groin, I needed antibiotics.

My husband had a bite go like that. Doctor thought it was from a horse fly. Do you have flucloxacillin? That's the one normally given for cellulitis. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cellulitis/

Thanks for the info, I think this is exactly what he has. Yep, we have Flucloxacillin he is on 500mg 4x per day. Hoping it will have calmed down tomorrow. If not being marched (kicking and screaming) to the urgent T centre.

You're doing all the right things so far

It'll either improve or not so take it from there

That looks like cellulitis to me. You need to be careful. A friend ended up in hospital for two weeks with it earlier in the year.
