Is something like this a thing? Like, can I just go in and say I feel okish but not great. Can you check me over and give me some guidance on what to improve?

You get regularish nhs health checks once you hit 40. They weigh and measure, check blood pressure and cholesterol etc.

I never got one. I lived in Wales in my early forties. In fact, you're asked why you want an appointment so it's a brave person who'd say 'just for a checkup'.

I'm 55, never had one. I have had a bowel screening kit through the post though and a mammogram.

This is a thing, post 40 health checks, but you are called for it rather than requesting it. I had mine at 42.

You can get blood pressure done at a pharmacy and online blood tests. I did mine with medichecks at 40 and turned out I had a bad vit D deficiency.
