Has anyone else experienced the after effects of the mantle radiation used to treat Hodgkins Lymphoma up until the mid 1990s? i.e. secondary cancers, heart valve, thyroid, parathyroid destruction and life limiting illness. My question primarily concerns the irradiated heart. This may be applicable to others who received mantle radiation for breast cancer in those years also. Has anyone had heart valves replaced and come out of it feeling better? or has anyone any direction to groups that are not American (follow up is different), or heart related support groups that are good in the UK or Europe? Desperate for a bit of support.
