Sudden pain back of knee / fibro ? / osteoarthritis?

This just started happening last night, it's happened about half a dozen times today. A sudden pain at the back of my right knee when I'm walking. My knee seems to give way for a second, then the pain is gone and it's OK. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis in my knees. (I still haven't got meds or a treatment plan) I do have constant knee aches and pains but this is new. Obviously I will speak to the doc on Monday morning, just wondering if anyone has had something similar?

Could be a torn meniscus.

Ibuprofen gel may help until you get in to GP.
Do you have a knee brace? That might help as well.
Some people have surgery for a torn meniscus (if that's what it is) but some get better with physio.
Hope resolves easily for you, OP

I've got a torn meniscus my other knee, I hope it's not that. Bloody hell.

I hope not - but mine started very suddenly.

I stood up, and it was like I was shot in the back of my knee.
Sorry ... but maybe it isn't a torn meniscus. Just describing what happened to me.

Definitely sounds like a torn meniscus! I had it in my knee. Surgery sorted it out but I now have reduced flexibility in the joint. At least it doesn’t give way anymore.
