Cramping and back pain

Hi

Just after abit of advice.

I've been to the doctors twice now with what I originally thought was BV as I had it last year. I was swabbed then Had a weeks worth of cream seemed to help abit. Then I felt like I was weeing more and had abdominal cramping and lower back pain so then I thought uti which I'm prone to. Went back and had wee checked no infection present but she gave me 3 days of trimethoprim. Again helped abit.

Now I'm left with some occasional cramping and back pain enough for me to be like what is going on?!

Sometimes it feels like shooting ovary pains and other times cramping like period.

I don't have a period due to the birth control I'm on, I'm at a loss at what could be causing this. Has anyone experienced similar? I feel like a nutter going to and from the doctors!

Do you have a prolapse at all?

Emmaaa1990 · 17/07/2024 19:16

Not that I'm aware of, would I know? Seems to have come out of nowhere which is why I suspected uti or bv as it felt the same

Looked at symptoms and the only one I have seems to be lower back pain so I don't think it would be that. Just annoying now not sure if I'm stressed and that's a reason - getting married in a month! Just want it to go away - heat soothes it but it's not all the time just intermittent

Honestly? Skip the GP and go to sexual health. We see this sort of thing daily and can help! We don’t just deal with STIs 🙂

Emmaaa1990 · 17/07/2024 19:29

@WetBandits oh that's interesting! Could be a shout, when I first read that I was like oh god I hope it's not an STI as it's not me! But if you think they may be better equipped that's good to know Thankyou!

How's your temperature been? Is it ok now?

Emmaaa1990 · 17/07/2024 19:36

@WhoisJusticeBeaver never had a temperature. When I was being treated for uti I had some hot flushes but that's gone now

By looking inside!. You probably haven’t if you’re pre-meno and haven’t had children.. just these can be symptoms that’s all.. go to sexual health first to rule all that out! Please don’t worry about my suggestion.

That's good. I had some very similar pain to you with a pelvic infection. But I had a raging fever, so sounds like you're ok on that front.

I'd keep an eye on your temperature though. Just to be on the safe side.

@WhoisJusticeBeaver oh wow I didn't even know that was a thing! How did they diagnose you? I will definitely keep an eye on that Thankyou

Usually diagnosed via a combination of bimanual examination, speculum examination and microscopy. GP usually won’t do all of those examinations, or might not have access to the equipment (and will usually point you towards sexual health!)

Out of interest as might be relevant, what contraception are you using?

Emmaaa1990 · 17/07/2024 22:12

@WetBandits that's good I just want it to be gone now! I'm on the mini pill desogestel
