B12

I had some bloods done recently. B12 was 250 which seems to be at the bottom of the ‘normal’ range. GP not concerned but I have been tired and have some mild hairloss. Wondering if that B12 is a bit low and should start a supplement to see if it helps.

Iron for hair loss. Ferrous sulphate. Iron needs to be over 50/70

With b12 you may need to take folic acid to aid absorption. Best enquire what your folic levels are.

Iron over 50?

Mine is 16.9 and right in the middle of the green zone on my results

If you have pernicious anaemia (a condition which makes it hard for your body to absorb B12 from the food you eat) there’s little point in taking oral supplements because your body won’t absorb those either. That’s why people have injections, this bypasses the digestive system and gets the B12 straight into your blood stream, where it’s needed.
